Therefore, it&#8217;s even more important to consider what one can do for their own mental health and how to support others in building mental health.<\/p>\n<h2>We&#8217;d like to present you with 5 tips for mental health:<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Sleep!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sleep? Yes, you heard that right. Adequate sleep is a crucial component of mental health. In her book &#8220;Thrive,&#8221; author Arianna Huffington dedicates almost half of the book to the topic of sleep and its significance. She describes that it&#8217;s essential for long-term well-being to get enough sleep. Sleep has a strong effect on our emotions, creativity, decision-making, self-confidence, and overall well-being.<\/p>\n<p>While many understand in theory that adequate sleep and breaks are necessary, it often fails in practice. Other things tend to take priority in daily life. So the first step is to decide that sleep deserves a high priority in one&#8217;s life.<\/p>\n<p>Practically, it can help to buy a comfortable pillow, darken the room well, and keep it cool. Avoiding using technical devices shortly before sleep, not drinking coffee after 2 pm, and developing an evening routine can also be beneficial. For example, peacefully drinking a cup of tea and writing down three things that went well today or things to be grateful for.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Be Active<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, not only rest is part of mental health. It has been proven that exercise has a positive impact on mental health. Exercise reduces the stress hormone cortisol and releases the happiness hormone serotonin. You can freely choose whether you want to exercise outdoors, choose a team sport, or prefer spending time in the gym.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s worth finding out which sport suits you best because it makes it much easier to develop a routine. Ja, richtig geh\u00f6rt. Ein wichtiger Bestandteil der mentalen Gesundheit besteht aus ausreichend Schlaf. In ihrem Buch \u201eThrive\u201c widmet die Autorin Arianna Huffington fast die H\u00e4lfte des Buches dem Thema Schlaf und dessen Bedeutung. Sie beschreibt, dass es langfristig f\u00fcr das eigene Wohlbefinden zwingend erforderlich ist, ausreichend zu schlafen. Schlaf hat einen starken Effekt auf unsere Emotionen, unsere Kreativit\u00e4t, unsere Entscheidungen, unser Selbstbewusstsein und unser generelles Wohlbefinden.<\/p>\n<p>    W\u00e4hrend vielen in der Theorie klar ist, dass ausreichend Schlaf und Pausen notwendig sind, scheitert es doch oft in der Praxis. Im Alltag werden eben doch schnell andere Dinge priorisiert. Der erste Schritt ist also, sich erstmal daf\u00fcr zu entscheiden, dass Schlaf eine hohe Priorit\u00e4t im eigenen Leben verdient hat.<\/p>\n<p>    Ganz praktisch kann es dann helfen, sich ein gem\u00fctliches Kissen zu kaufen, den Raum gut abzudunkeln und k\u00fchl zu halten. Sich nicht kurz vor dem Schlafen mit technischen Ger\u00e4ten zu besch\u00e4ftigen, nach 14 Uhr keinen Kaffee mehr zu trinken und eine Abend-Routine zu entwickeln. So the first step is to decide that sleep deserves a high priority in one's life.   Practically, it can help to buy a comfortable pillow, darken the room well, and keep it cool. Avoiding using technical devices shortly before sleep, not drinking coffee after 2 pm, and developing an evening routine can also be beneficial.
