On September 26, 2009, Prof. Dr. John G. Geier passed away at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer. He was survived by his wife and development partner, Dorothy Downey, children, and grandchildren. Prof. Geier’s life’s work is his Personality Factor Model (now persolog Personality Factor Model). Until the end, Prof. Dr. John G. Geier assisted persolog GmbH in incorporating the latest scientific findings into the model.<\/p>

Prof. Dr. John G. Geier<\/a> (1934-2009) became known in Germany through Friedbert Gay<\/a>, the managing director of persolog GmbH, who introduced Geier’s Personality Factor Model<\/a> to Germany in 1990. “Prof. Dr. Geier had a much greater significance in the training and consulting world than is generally known,” says Friedbert Gay. Approximately 44 million people worldwide have received feedback on their behaviors using his Personality Factor Profile and have been able to work on their personal development. Over 10,000 trainers, coaches, and consultants have used his tools in their work. “For me, it was very special to be able to work so closely with this extraordinary personality for so long,” says Friedbert Gay. The current version of the persolog Personality Factor Profile<\/a> was released in 2008 and is available in over 30 languages worldwide.<\/p>

About Prof. Dr. John G. Geier<\/strong><\/h3>

Prof. Dr. John G. Geier founded Performax Inc. in 1972 and was the first president of Carlson-Learning Company. Prof. Dr. John G. Geier is the originator and developer of the Personal Profile System, which he first published in 1972. For over 40 years, he has been involved in researching competencies in the field of work behavior. His company, Geier Learning Systems, is the licensor of persolog GmbH.<\/p>

Throughout his remarkable scientific career, Prof. Dr. John G. Geier worked at various universities. He served as the head of behavioral sciences at the University of Minnesota and was a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Arizona. Additionally, he was an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Michigan, where he imparted knowledge to thousands of managers through the renowned summerschool “Manager of Managers.” Prof. Dr. Geier authored several scientific works, including “Energetics of Personality,” “Career Fulfillment,” and “Behavior Personality Analysis.”<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Legacy of Prof. Dr. John G. Geier: Pioneering the persolog Personality Factor Model<\/h4><\/div>

To explain human personality, Prof. Dr. John G. Geier used the behavioral dimensions D, I, S, and C of the persolog Personality Factor Model, considering interpersonal, intrapersonal, and social aspects. His original work is based on a theory model by William Moulton Marston (1893-1947). Prof. Dr. John G. Geier supported Marston’s theory with reliable facts through his research and acquired the copyrights to the collected works of Dr. Marston from Marston’s widow.<\/p>

His dissatisfaction with existing instruments led Prof. Dr. John G. Geier to found Geier Learning Systems in 1990. Since then, he developed assessment instruments based on behavioral dimensions. He added descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive factors to the model. In 2004, Geier Learning Systems transferred rights to persolog GmbH. Prof. Dr. John G.
