Supporting the “Student Café” Project: persolog’s Contribution
With a donation of 1,000 euros, persolog GmbH supports the “Student Café” project of the Aktionsgemeinschaft Drogen Pforzheim e. V. The “Student Café” is being set up in cooperation with a large educational institution. It aims to provide students with a place where their problems are taken seriously. Today, Friedberta Gay’a and Susanne Wagner officially presented the donation. In addition, for the outreach workers represented by Harald Stickel, General Manager of AG Drogen Pforzheim e.V., and Bernd Schön, Team Leader of Streetwork in the city center, a kilogram of coffee beans was given. One gram of coffee symbolically represents each euro.
Addressing Youth Challenges: persolog’s Commitment and the Importance of Outreach
The problems of young people are as diverse as the young people themselves: school, home environment, drugs, violence, right-wing extremism, or bullying are just a few. The outreach workers of AG Drogen are on duty every day to help young people cope with these problems. Based in Remchingen, perolog GmbH supports this work with a donation of 1,000 euros. “The Student Café is a forward-thinking project. It’s nice that we can contribute to it,” says Friedberta Gay’a, Managing Director of persolog GmbH. “As an internationally oriented company, we have always kept an eye on local issues and feel obligated to help young people locally.” Establishing contact is enormously important for the outreach workers. However, the threshold for seeking help is often very high, especially for young people.
Creating a Safe Haven: The Role of the Café and persolog’s Commitment to Youth
Therefore, the café should be an offer for young people. They can exchange ideas with the outreach workers about their problems there, but they don’t have to. “We have to create a place of trust where young people are accepted as they are,” explains Bernd Schön, Team Leader of Streetwork at AG Drogen. “Only then can we help ensure that the path, for example, into a drug career becomes a path back into society.”
Like the outreach workers in Pforzheim, perolog GmbH wants to support people. The outreach workers mainly work with young people who are in the process of forming their personalities. Persolog GmbH works with executives and their employees who are interested in further developing their personalities.
